Position-specific coaching, structured practice, and film sessions. Whether you're chasing a college offer or just starting out, every player gets better here.
Respect & sportsmanship. Consistency. Show up, suit up, put in the work. Work hard, play hard, have fun. That's the standard — and it carries past the final whistle.
Equipment is the single biggest reason new players don't join a lacrosse program — and we're not okay with that. The Valparaiso Lacrosse Club actively sources starter gear and provides it to new players at club cost, with zero retail markup. What it costs us is what it costs you.
Before you register, reach out. We'll go through what you need, help you source it, and make sure you step on the field ready to play. Gear will not be the reason you don't suit up.
Club-provided items (helmet, jerseys, shorts, pinnie) are separate — included with registration and returned at season's end. The offer above is specifically for players who need help sourcing the remaining starter equipment.
The 2027 season runs 14–18 games. Confirmed matchups below — more being added. Green top border = home game.
Schedule subject to change · Additional games being added · Home games in Valparaiso, location TBD · Updated Sep 2026
Mon & Wed at TopFuel. Mandatory if you're not currently in a sport. Off-day plans from Coach JJ and Tony keep you progressing between sessions.
2 days Stick Skills · 2 days LAXfit · 1 day Film (Google Meet or in person with a team meal). Build the habits before the grind hits.
3–5 practices per week depending on game schedule. This is where the team locks in. Attendance and effort are how you earn your spot — and keep it.
Helmet, jerseys, shorts, and practice pinnie are provided by the club and returned at season's end. Everything else is player-provided — and if you need help sourcing gear as a new player, see our gear commitment above.
JJ came up as a starting defenseman at Michigan Tech — structured, physical, high-IQ — and that foundation shapes everything about how he coaches. Now heading up Valpo's program and developing players at Lake Effect Lacrosse, he's built a name across Indiana for a player-first approach grounded in fundamentals, accountability, and mental toughness. He's here to build something at Valpo that lasts.
Jon's connection to Valparaiso lacrosse started with family and grew into a full commitment to building something Northwest Indiana can be proud of. As HS Boys Program Director and a coach with the Valparaiso Vikings, he is involved at every level of what this program is — the competitive structure, the team culture, and making sure the sport is accessible to every player who wants to suit up. He's your first call for anything from registration to gear.
